Dear TUSD Families,
I hope you are enjoying a wonderful Spring Break. Yesterday evening the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) released a statement. You can access the full statement at this link:
The statement announces that the CDPH will postpone the regulatory process used to require COVID vaccinations for public and private school attendance.
The requirement, which was expected to go into effect for the 2022–23 school year on July 1, 2022, will not be implemented until after full federal Food and Drug Administration approval and no sooner than July 1, 2023.
Also, it was announced yesterday by Sen. Richard Pan (SD 6) that Senate Bill 871, which would have added COVID-19 vaccinations to the list of required immunizations for school-aged children, without a personal belief exemption, is being held and will not move forward at this time.
I am passing this along to you now as many TUSD families have a keen interest in this information.
Have a wonderful Spring Break. We look forward to welcoming TUSD students back to school on Tuesday, April 19th.
